Colorado’s Available HVAC Tax Credits

New IRS Requirement: Product PIN Needed for 2025 HVAC Tax Credits

Starting with the 2025 tax season, homeowners claiming federal tax credits for qualifying HVAC equipment under Section 25C must include a Product Identification Number (PIN) on IRS Form 5695 (Residential Energy Credits). This new requirement applies to equipment placed in service between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, and ensures the product was manufactured by a Qualified Manufacturer (QM).

  • Lennox PIN L750
  • Daikin PIN I7Q6

Be sure to enter the correct 4-character PIN for each qualifying product directly on Form 5695 when filing your federal tax return. This step is essential to receive your energy efficiency tax credit.
